Dear Sir,

I give thanks to God for the opportunity provided to share with you about our experience(s) concerning grassroots missions. I would like to reflect the fact that mission is at the very center of God’s desire concerning His church, I got saved late 80’s with a burning passion to reach out to deprived people and communities, consequently I received call into the ministry in the city and got ordained as a Pastor in City church, despite the opportunities and privileges of city Pastor I have always had a deep passion for many souls in the dark area at the grassroots where there is virtually or no privilege to receive the message of the Gospel. Many of this so call grassroots are like a jungle community.

 

After my various commitment and assignment as a Pastor in the city, there came a certain time towards the year 2010 God began to set my mind into the need to spread the gospel to grassroots communities, and in that process of time my family decided to renovate my fathers building in my home town…. and there God got my attention..In that terrain I discovered height of demonic and idolatry activities within the community. I could hardly hold my peace to see a people very far way from the truth of the Gospel and right there I yielded myself to offer mission service to the community.

 

However let me state here that I started by organizing group of intercessors who joined in praying for the project to reach out to Ebu town and in that process we received specific message from God, God gave us Matthew 4:15-17….  The key message directed to my ministry was verse 17 where God revealed to me that my mission to Ebu will serve as a model for other mission activities to other communities…  Today Ebu is being transformed from a jungle and gradually showing features of an urban city after five years of strategic and consistent mission outreaches and the people are in huge numbers embracing the message of the Gospel.  mobilization was also set into motion and churches are being planted to retain the saved souls.

 Ebu town has about 37 fetish festivals across the year but now we have instituted an annual Christian festival know as Ebu Jesus Carnival repositioning the heart providing a better way to celebrate rather than the worship of Idols. this Christian festival is still make tremendous impact in that community….

Finally I call your attention and that of your organization for the need for support and partnership to uphold missions at the grassroots. I look forward to hear your response in this regard. …

1)      Without Bibles, Missionaries cannot effectively reach out, hence a barrier to soul winning

2)      New converts are not equipped in Knowledge because they could not afford a bible

3)      It is a difficult task for many to take Bibles to some very far grassroot communities due to lack of proper distribution agency administration hence denying the people of access to Bible.

4)      Many converts soon back slide because they do not have Bibles to nourish the soul.

5)      Evangelizing with Bibles is a work in a circle; if evangelism must advance then Bibles must be available for the converts.

6)      If Bibles are easily reached it will trigger the result and output of evangelism and the missionaries will be excited to reach the people with a special gift of God’s word in their hands.

 

I am convinced beyond all reasonable doubt that God is calling for His People to invest into His WORD project, the provision of BIBLES for the following reasons.

1  To provide resource and empowerment for missionaries especially at the grassroots

2  To promote mission and evangelism at the grassroots

3   To encourage grassroots believers to study God’s Word so that they can make a difference to their communities.

4  To provide resource for sustenance and growth for new converts

5  To provide resource and empowerment to the Church and the leadership especially at the grassroots to   effectively evangelize the world.

6  To place gift of God’s word in the hands of sinners and the dying world for restoration.
